Hello from Steamy Houston 👋🏼

I’m Donna Weaver, an Instructional Designer and Developer for Baker Hughes, an energy technology company who work with various energy companies around the world. I have been doing this job for 15 years at BH. Before that, I was in public education, first as a classroom teacher and then as an Instructional Technology Specialist.

I’ve been using Vyond since before it was Vyond - when it was GoAnimate. So, it has been more than a decade at least. I use it to create content for my eLearning courses, create informational videos, and to translate our training content into other languages, as we are truly a global company. 🌎

🙂 I’m so happy there is a Vyond community where I can learn from all of you, and share anything I’ve learned to help others. My biggest challenge in Vyond currently is editing an AI avatar after I have created it. If I need to change a couple of words or the inflection or tone, I have to recreate the entire video. You can’t just open the text to speech and edit it there and reprocess like you can in the cartoon avatars. (Also I use uploaded images of our workers in uniform, not the generic AI Avatar images available.)

A way I’d love to see Vyond enhance tomorrow would be to make custom AI avatars more editable. If possible to move a little more naturally and allow editing of the text to speech after the video has been created.
