Sound effects and moving them in the timeline

Every time I try to copy/paste or drag a sound effect my whole program freezes and I have to refresh. It doesn’t even let me save my work! Any suggestions on what could be going wrong? I emptied my cache and everything. All other programs, online pages, etc work fine.
