How to add shadows to images for better contrast?

Hi everyone!

I am not sure if I am simply not seeing the option, but I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for adding a shadow behind an image to create contrast and make it more prominent. Here is an example of the layered images and how they blend together. Any tips or tricks? 🙂 Thank you!!
